This is a blog about games. That’s what makes the name clever.
– interesting justification for needing $50k
– the “new” languages are just English with different symbols for each letter (including a Pokemon Unown ripoff)…I don’t know why this bothers me so much, but I nearly set myself on fire when I realized what was going on
Thanks, suggestions are always appreciated!
What kills this project for me is that it’s their first game. No way they should be taking $50k, no matter what the project was.
I cant even remotely comprehend your motivation for your efforts in these random pathetic rants of a sad individual that obviously needs to be loved. What you have chosen to do with your life, I mean with all that one could do with their time. Having a brain and mobility and the mental ability to form words and thoughts and communicate so well, demonstrating an obvious talent for the written word. All the possibilities in this huge universe and this is what you came up with. So very, very sad. I feel so sorry for you. I just want to give you a big hug and tell you are a good boy. You don’t need to hurt anymore. Let it go, Let all the pain and hurt go..
I just want you to appreciate how difficult it was to type this comment on a keyboard floating in a sea of my tears.
That is a clever comeback. You’ve proved my point.
I agree with the guy above. The fact that you want to share an educated, if negative, opinion in a clear and well-written manner makes you pretty sad. You should just write nasty comments in all caps and then masturbate to Japanese porn like all of the normal people on the internet.
What’s wrong with you?
NOBODY LOVES ME
Dude, I think I’ve seen your name on game projects before.
Can you make a quick list of some of the games you’ve been a part of (or refer to another site where you’ve already done this)? Would give you a little more credibility.
Why yes, you can see the full list of my credentials on my professional site.
I’m glad you asked. If there’s one thing this blog desperately needs, it’s credibility.
Just remember kids – if you’ve never created a game than you have ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to criticise a game. Just like film and music reviewers have no right to… um.. oh wait… how does that argument work again?
Although you cleverly called your blog “davidgaames”, with the use of the “No one is anonymous” mentality on the internet, it was extremely simple to track down who the owner of this website is. And lo and behold, you yourself are a game developer…
Now, I don’t know why you feel the need to break apart other independent developers who are trying to make something they feel strongly about…but it’s pretty downright awful.
I will be passing along to other fellow developers your current project and company name.
Please think about how competitive an industry video games are right now, and despite your apparent brutal hate for these small projects, I wish you all the best with your game.
Haha I did the same thing and found your game. And now I understand why you’re so angry…You should make a kickstarter.
For those of you without the wealth of knowledge I have about the commenters, it’s worth noting that these last two comments came from the same person. I realize there’s not a whole lot to do in Bumblefuck, Massachusetts, but you would probably benefit from working on your game rather than pretending to be different people commenting on this blog. I’m sure when you send my info along to other developers and they see these comments, you’re a little more in danger of not being taken seriously than doing any harm to me. I won’t be approving any more of your comments, so the least you could do is find someone out of state to post your nonsense for you.
I sure do hope that our paths cross, my friend. This comments only for you. I think it’s important to put pleasant thoughts out there for developers, because as you know, this industry is tough. I was trying to agitate a response to make sure you got the prior comment, considering you seem pretty active on all the others. I will not be looking to hurt your project personally, because I believe that our products should speak for themselves. I don’t know you personally, so I take nothing you say personally, but as far as who becomes aware of what you do on your blog, do you think it’s appreciated by the industry? Do you think anyone will find this funny? Probably, considering how you write your comments. For the record, your game should be the next article you write, at least explain why it is right where everyone else is wrong…It’s a pretty old school looking thing, you think you’d have the guts to put yourselves out there? When the game is released, I’ll be sure to give an adequate review of the product, not the people who make it. That seems neither here nor there. This character you created from Vanilla Sky is all so difficult to look at. You take other peoples art and tear it apart. You know I do know who you are, and if you stay in this industry, I sure do hope we meet. Good luck in the real world, under your real name, I’m sure you’ll find reasonable consequences out there 😉
dave-kun, when are you coming back? I love your work
